Siempelkamp has established itself globally as a leading system supplier of integrated wood-based panel plants. Its complete service chain and vertical manufacturing range are convincing: “We do not only sell machines, but also integrated, customer-specific solutions for plants and processes. Current requirements such as the resource-saving use of raw materials, energy-efficient technologies and the use of annual plants are part of this concept,” says Christoph Michel, CEO of the Siempelkamp Group.
Experience Room: Six core themes, one message
With its stand concept, Siempelkamp focuses on the live and virtual presentation of the product range and an interactive experience at the same time. One highlight is the “Experience Room”, which allows visitors to discover the topic of “complete system competence” digitally on interactive screens in six subject areas. Topic 1, “Unique engineering capabilities” brings Siempelkamp’s engineering know-how and overall plant competence to the point – from planning, project planning and financing through the core components of a wood-based materials plant to innovative new technologies and services. “Green technology”, the second area, is dedicated to the results of Siempelkamp research and development on the use of annual plants in the wood-based panel industry. Here, for example, the major order from CalAg in California for the production of fiberboards from rice straw is regarded as a benchmark and pioneer in the market.
“Saving resources with modern forming concepts” is core theme no. 3 – with the “Eco” concepts ContiRoll Ecodrive, EcoFormer, Ecoresinator, EcoPulser and EcoSifter, among others. They illustrate how resource efficiency is becoming a strategic factor in the engineered wood industry.
The size reduction technology from Siempelkamp subsidiary Pallmann will also be on display at the Siempelkamp stand in the form of several exhibits. It stands for targeted material size reduction and sophisticated logistics concepts. With these concepts, wood-based panel producers secure considerable cost and competitive advantages, conserve valuable resources and reduce emissions.
In the fourth topic area of the Experience Room, “Customized solutions for specific needs” is on the agenda. Production increases or changes, board diversity, climate, available resources and local markets form the highly differentiable coordinates for Siempelkamp plants, which can be tailored to individual market requirements. This field of competence also closes the circle on “Resource Efficiency” – this is where local differentiation is particularly noticeable, e.g. in the area of raw materials and adhesives. The two design variants of the current ContiRoll® – Generation 9 and Generation 9 NEO – also stand for special adaptation to customer requirements.
Topic 5, “Panel Handling”, illustrates Siempelkamp’s high-performance finishing lines, which keeps pace with the high production speeds of the ContiRoll® Generation 9. Siempelkamp supplies all components from the trimming station to the fully automated panel storage system from a single source. The RoundTrack® system from Siempelkamp subsidiary Strothmann will also be exhibiting at the LIGNA stand for the first time.
The sixth topic, “Intelligent Production”, presents networked and intelligent systems for all aspects of the wood-based panel plant – from adaptive, self-learning production control and mechatronic system components to machine monitoring and predictive maintenance. Visitors to the stand will experience how top quality can be combined with a simultaneous reduction in production costs. The result is a complete system that consistently utilizes all options of digitization and intelligent process control technology – and thus efficiently produces the optimum board for your markets.
